Inactivity is Fueling America‘s Obesity Epidemic

HEALTH NEWS A new survey finds Americans have a growing appetite, a growing appetite for inactivity. Experts say this behavior is fueling America's obesity epidemic.

A national ABC/Time magazine poll finds 71 percent of Americans say they don't get enough exercise. Many say it's inconvenient or they don't have the will power. New studies find worldwide, obesity plagues more of the poor than the rich. American women are twice as likely to be overweight than Canadian women.

In both countries, the Centers for Disease Control say the lowest income residents report the highest rates of obesity and poor health.
