LAS VEGAS, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert Earl, MPH, RD, Senior Director of Nutrition Policy for the National Food Processors Association (NFPA) will address the food industry's role in supporting and promoting information and educational activities focused on diet and health at this year's Institute of
Food Technologists (IFT) Food Expo, to be held July 12-16 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As a member of a panel discussion titled: Politics of Obesity: Revisited, Earl will discuss how the food industry works to be a part of the solution in helping consumers understand "how to eat, not what to eat," which is a foundation to achieving healthful diets and lifestyles.
In an era where attention to diet and health is at an all-time high, the food industry must deliver to consumers a wide variety of foods designed to meet their dietary needs for a healthful lifestyle, as well as their specific, individual demands for products that taste good; are safe, nutritious, and convenient; and provide value.
This presentation will also cover the efforts focused on advancing science-based dietary guidance, food labeling, and nutrition recommendations to help consumers attain healthy weight and healthful lifestyles.
The panel session will be held on Tuesday, July 13 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM in Room N-220 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
NFPA is the largest trade association representing the food and beverage industry in the United States and worldwide, serving as the industry's voice on scientific and public policy issues involving food safety, food security, nutrition, technical and regulatory matters and consumers affairs.
